No Attempt Limit for CTET (Official Rule)

As per the official guidelines issued by NCTE, there is no restriction on the number of attempts for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
Candidates are allowed to appear unlimited times, even after qualifying, to improve their score.

    Official NCTE Statement:
“There is no restriction on the number of attempts for appearing in CTET.”

This makes CTET a flexible and student-friendly eligibility exam.

Is 82 Marks Qualified for CTET?

CTET is conducted for 150 marks, and the qualifying criteria depend on the candidate’s category.

    • For General/EWS candidates, 82 marks are NOT sufficient to qualify.

    • For reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST/Divyang), 82 marks are considered qualified in practice.

    Minimum Qualifying Marks for CTET

    Category Minimum Marks Percentage
    General / EWS 90 60%
    OBC / SC / ST 82.5 (≈82) 55%

    Conclusion:
82 marks qualify only for reserved categories
82 marks do not qualify for General/EWS candidates
